Day 01: Arrive at Paro Airport and Drive to Thimphu

Duration of Drive: 1.5 hours (54Km)

Discover the great Himalayan peaks as you fly into Paro Airport. On arrival at the Paro International Airport, you will be greeted by your private guide with a traditional white scarf of auspiciousness and transferred to Thimphu.

On the way stop at Tachhog Lhakhang, a temple located across the famous iron chain bridge built over the meandering Pa Chhu (Paro River). Devour yourself to the invigorating ambiance of the medieval surrounding of this place. The cool-sweeping breeze and bright colored prayer flags are a feast to the eye.

Reach Thimphu situated at 2,300 meters and sprawled along the Wang Chhu (Thimphu River).

Catch the vibrant Buddha Dordenma statue at Kuenselphodrang. Apart from the serenity of the place, the view of Thimphu valley is amazing from this spot.

Visit the exquisite massive structure of Thimphu Tashichoe Dzong- a masterpiece of Bhutanese architecture.

Visit the local archery ground where the locals celebrate the national sport of archery with dance and song with every hit.

Later explore the only city in the world without a single traffic light before returning to your hotel.

Day 02 & 03: Talakha Hiking and Camping

Talakha Trek is an off-beaten path providing an epic view of the Himalayas. You need to endure a short trek to enjoy this camping site; popularly called as Talakha Trek. It is one of the most unexplored trekking trails in Bhutan. It requires just one-night camping but treats you with a grand view of the Himalayas. It was the route used by Daga Penlop (The Governor) in olden times to travel to Thimphu and Punakha. And along the route, you will also come across the Highlander

The trek starts from Talakha Lhakhang which is about 20Km from Thimphu town. You can stop for awhile At Talakha monastery and have a conversation with little monks before the start of the trek. You can also take some pictures with them. After walking for around 3 hours you reach at a Nomads Pasture Ground/Pang Serbu, with the best Location to set up the camp for the people who love flowers and Mountain views.

You have to trek further from here to get a clear view of the Himalayan range. In this trek, you can see the entire Eastern Himalayan Mountains with Mount Kanchenjunga and Mount Lhotse, Mount Jumolhari, JichuDrakye, and Tshering Magang over Looking Thimphu Valley, which will make your trek worth all the effort. While returning you can camp at Pang Serbu with stunning views over a campfire. And the next day retrace the path to Thimphu. Overnight at hotel in Thimphu

 

Day 04: Thimphu- Punakha (74kms/2.5hours)

Drive Duration: 2-2.5Hours (73Km)

Journey to Punakha Valley

On the way stop at Dochu La- Pass at 3,100 meters above sea level.  If you like we can also hoist prayer flags here and enjoy the beauty of Eastern Himalayas.

Upon reaching  Punakha,visit the thriving Sangchen Dorji Lhuendrup Nunnery and participate in an intense butter lamp offering with the Nuns.

Explore the village of Talo, home to the temple of the Queen Mother’s protective deity.

Visit a local family and learn by engaging in their daily activities; you can try your skills in cooking Bhutanese dishes or learn the art of making butter tea or feed livestock.

Overnight at Hotel in Punakha or you can choose to stay in a homestay

 

Day 05: Explore the Golden Punakha Valley and return to Paro (128Kms/3-4Hrs)

In the morning take a refreshing walk village of Sopsokha to reach the temple of fertility.

Visit Punakha Dzong and return to Paro

Drive Duration: 3-4 Hours (128Km)

Day 06: Hike to the legendary Tiger’s Nest Monastery

The best of the last, the legendary Taktsang hike is the focus of today’s activities. Get your energy up at breakfast this morning for a hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery. Venture through the pristine surrounding of the monastery resting on a cliff. You would be rewarded to the overwhelming sight of the monastery perched on a cliff at 3,120 meters above sea level and 900 meters above Paro valley.

After the hike, we will stop at the ancient Kichu Lhakhang dating back to the 7th century and discover the myths related to the construction of this Lhakhang.

Relax your muscles with a healing traditional hot stone bath and game of local archery.

Duration: 4 to 6 hours

Day 07: Departure

Your drop at the Paro International Airport will be arranged according to your flight schedule. Our team will drop you at the airport and bid you farewell.

The Minimum Daily Package Rate covers following services:

  • Accommodation in 3 star Hotel in twin sharing room. (Can be upgraded to 4 & 5-star with additional Premium)
  • All meals (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at the Govt. approved Tourist hotels or Tourist local restaurants.
  • Tourist Standard Transport / transfers within Bhutan for the duration of the tour. Entire day long car (Sedan/SUV/Hiace bus/Coaster Bus) according to the group size and availability with a driver
  • A licensed English speaking local guide for the duration of the tour.
  • Sightseeing and all permits and all monuments entrance fees.
